The warrant for the 2017 Town Meeting for Buxton, Maine is now available.
The first article will be voted upon by a very few people at 5:30 am on June 13, 2017, and in spite of his questionable ability to run a competent town meeting, the same person as last year will be nominated and selected to perform the duties of moderator.
The secret ballot portion of the Town Meeting will be held on June 13, 2017. Voting begins at 6:00 am and closes at 8:00 pm. Only Article 2 will be voted upon as this article includes election of town offices.
The remainder of the articles will be voted upon by a very small percentage of the population starting at 9:00 am on June 17, 2017. The open meeting portion of the Buxton Town Meeting is predominantly controlled by a select few individuals with a vested interest in the dispensation of taxpayer resources.
Buxton News is calling for a general boycott of the Saturday portion of the Buxton Town Meeting. Years of poor attendance at the town meeting prove that this is an antiquated version of voting that enables direct voter intimidation to undermine the the voices of the majority of voters.
