Virginia “Gin” Lillian (Scott) Berry, 100, longtime Hollis resident, passed away on her 100th birthday at the Gorham House on January 27, 2019, where she resided for the last 11 years.
She was born in Boston on January 27, 1919, a child of the late Royal and Thalma (Ricker) Scott. Throughout her working years, Gin worked as an LPN.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, William M. Berry in 2008, and her brother.
Gin is survived by her son William Mayo Berry and his wife Nancy of Concord, Calif.; grandchildren, Michelle Berry and her husband Ricardo Antoni, and Robert Berry and his spouse John of California; and a great-granddaughter, Julia of California. She is also survived by a dear friend and neighbor, Joan Atkinson of Hollis.
The family would like to thank all her caregivers that made her feel at home. They would also like to thank the staff of Compassus Hospice for their care and support.
A graveside service will be announced in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Hollis.
