The following policy and schedule changes have been implemented by the State of Maine and area towns during the COVID-19 pandemic.
State of Maine
Effective Monday, March 16, 2020 at 11:00 am the Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ will close its Kennebunk Branch Office until further notice, to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Maine.
All of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ Mobile Unit visits are also suspended until further notice.
Maine Judicial Branch announces court cancellations and postponements effective Monday, March 16, 2020. Additional information will be available on the courts’ web site.
The Maine State Museum will be closed to the public from March 17, 2020 through April 15, 2020.
From Friday, March 27, 2020 until April 8, 2020, the following Maine State Parks and beaches will be closed: Reid State Park, Popham Beach State Park, Fort Popham, Fort Baldwin, Kettle Cove State Park, Two Lights State Park, Crescent Beach State Park, Scarborough Beach State Park, Ferry Beach State Park, and Mackworth Island.
All Buxton town facilities remain closed to the general public through April 7, 2020. The closure applies to all Town buildings including town hall, public works, transfer station, fire stations, libraries, and playgrounds.
Buxton Recreation childcare programs will remain suspended until the MSAD # 6 School District reopens.
Town departments remain operational with reduced staffing levels to perform essential services only. Town employees will continue to support online services, mailing services and phone services.
Property taxes that are due April 10, 2020 may be paid a number of different ways.
Although the Buxton Transfer Station is closed, there is no change to the roadside trash pickup schedule.
West Buxton Public Library is closed until April 2, 2020.

All town and public meetings and all recreation programs scheduled in the community building are cancelled until further notice.
All town Buildings are closed to the general public until further notice. This includes the Town Hall, Community Building, Hollis Community Clothing Closet, and Salmon Falls Library.
The Town of Hollis is reducing staffing in the town office.
All town business will be conducted by email, fax, telephone, or regular US Mail.
To ask questions about conducting town business call 207-929-8552 Tuesday through Friday from 9:00AM to 4:00PM.
The Fire Department Building has restricted public access. For non-emergency inquiries, for example, fire permits please call 727-3623. If Fire Department does not answer the phone, they are out on call. At this time, they are asking that you not leave a message and to please call back.
The Hollis Code Office can be contacted via phone at (207) 929-8552 ext. 15. for permit processing. All questions will be answered via telephone, e-mail or regular mail. The e-mail contact is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Effective Friday, April 3, 2020 the Transfer Station will return to its regularly scheduled hours of Friday through Monday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Until further notice, the Standish Transfer Station will only be accepting household trash and recycling.
The Standish Town Hall, Public Works, and the Public Safety Buildings will be closed to the public through April 30, 2020.
All Recreation Department programs and the After School Program have been suspended. Employees involved in programs that have been suspended should report to their supervisor.
This closure includes all facility rentals and meetings involving the public. Only full time, part time and per diem employees and Councilors will enter the buildings unless permission is expressly granted by the Town Manager.
The Standish Food Pantry will not be serving meals in town facilities. Alternate plans are being developed.
Employees are expected to report to work as usual unless they are experiencing symptoms similar to those described on the CDC website or are otherwise sick or taking vacation.
Residents who are unable to access online services, applications and requests, may call the town offices for assistance at 207-642-3461.
Only one customer is allowed in the town office at a time.
The Town Clerk’s office remains open regular hours for Limington residents.
The Code Enforcement Officer continues to have his regular office hours and is available by phone to arrange inspections.
Limington Fire & EMS is fully staffed to respond to all calls. Access to the office is being limited. The Fire Department building is restricted area only those who are on duty are allowed in the building.
The Transfer station continues to operate its regular hours.
Curbside trash pickup is continuing on the normal schedule.
The Davis Memorial Library is closed until further notice.
All Town committee activities and meetings have been suspended until after April 30, 2020.
The Town of Limington and Emergency Management have coordinated food and medication access primarily for the use of the sick and elderly.
- For food access, call Sleepers Market at 207-637-2701 or email the market at email@example.com. Tell them what you need and make arrangements to pay.
- For medication, call your pharmacy to order your medications, make arrangements to pay for your prescriptions, and then call the Town Hall 207-637-2171.
- A representative of the town will pick your prepaid items and drop them off at your door step.
MSAD 6/Bonny Eagle
The school district will continue to have and April break from April 20 through April 24, 2020.
MSAD 6 has implemented a remote learning plan and school buildings will remain closed through the remainder of the 2019/2020 school year.
Beginning Tuesday, March 17, MSAD #6 School Nutrition will be offering free meals for all area children 18 years old and younger.
Student meals will be available at the school sites only. Starting on Monday, April 6, 2020 meals will be available at Buxton Center Elementary School, Edna Libby Elementary School, George E. Jack School, H. B. Emery Jr. Memorial School, and Hollis Elementary School. Meal pick up time will be between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm.
All Maine School Administrative District 6 schools, including Bonny Eagle High School and Middle School will be closed starting on Monday, March 16, 2020. Employees will be completing work that is assigned by their department manager or principal from home. Employees will continue to receive the weekly benefit they were receiving prior to the COVID-19 virus.
All non-school programs that are held in MSAD #6 facilities have been suspended.
