The administrators of Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center have decided to immediately cease accepting new patients as they plan to completely close the facility in July 2019.
Although the administrators did not respond to repeated requests for information about the closing, their web site claims that they are closing as a direct result of the expansion of the taxpayer funded MaineCare (Medicaid) welfare program.
Due to MaineCare expansion the health center will be closing in July 2019. The health center is no longer taking new patients.Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center web site
The health center is offering placement assistance to current patients.
The staff at the health center would like to help in any way to find you a new provider, apply for MaineCare or Free Care, enroll you at a Federally Qualified Health Center like Nasson Health Center or the Portland Community Clinic. Please call and set up an appointment for Case Management and schedule an Annual Exam if you have not had one in the last year.Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center web site
Although the health center is closing, Leavitt’s Mill is still proceeding with its annual 5K Run/Walk fundraiser. The administration did not reply to questions about the continued need for this fundraiser.
