A three vehicle crash on Narragansett Trail/Route 202 in Buxton has claimed the life 37 year old William Cole of Springvale.
At approximately 12:10 pm on November 16, 2020 Buxton Police and Rescue personnel responded to a report of a three vehicle crash on Narragansett Trail at Pease Road.
One vehicle had been reported as having “rolled over” with the driver possibly tapped inside. Upon arrival at the scene of the accident, Officers James Bradbury and Darian Pleasant discovered that the drivers of two of the three vehicles involved were in critical condition.
Buxton Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on scene and subsequently determined that Mr. Cole had died.
Patrick Devroy, 80 years old, of Buxton was also injured. His vehicle was on its side and he had to be extricated from it by Buxton Fire and Rescue. Mr. Devroy was transported to Maine Medical Center.
The operator of the third vehicle was Kevin Aceto, 47 years old, of South Berwick. Mr. Aceto received minor injuries and was transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment.
Buxton Police are investigating the crash with the assistance of a Maine State Police Crash Reconstruction Specialist.
Narragansett Trail was closed to traffic for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated.
