In response to the dry conditions and its responsibility to maintain water flow in the Saco River, Brookfield Renewable is allowing additional water to pass through the Skelton Dam.

As a result, the impounded water above the dam will drop by an estimated 4 feet. The drawdown has already had an affect on upstream water levels and recreation.

Future water level increases will be dependent on upstream precipitation as Brookfield meets the obligations in its agreements with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
