The Town of Buxton is accepting applications for a full-time Laborer/Equipment Operator in our Public Works Department. Duties will include assisting with maintenance of Town highways, lawn mowing, plowing snow and other general maintenance. The job requires heavy manual labor duties which include lifting, shoveling, raking, operation of chainsaws, large trucks and other equipment as assigned by the Public Works Director. Experience with snow plowing, use of heavy equipment, a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and active Class B CDL License is required; an active Class A CDL is preferred. Experience with mowing, plowing snow, and use of heavy equipment is required. This job also requires sufficient strength and agility to perform heavy manual labor duties such as lifting, mowing, shoveling dirt and snow, raking roadsides, installing culverts, operating a chainsaw for brush and tree removal from roadways and Town owned property for long periods of time, and working outside in adverse weather conditions.
